India to impose tighter tyre regulation
India is to regulate the tyres being fitted to new vehicles. From September 2004, according to a report in India's Express newspaper, all tyre manufacturers will have to get a safety testing certificate through the Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT). The tests reportedly will cover load rating, speed rating and uniformity.
