Volvo plans to source rubber parts from Thailand
Volvo Truck and Bus (Thailand) Co, has said it plans to increase the local content of the trucks made at its manufacturing facility in Samut Prakan. The company intends to set up auto parts facilities in Thailand, concentrating on rubber and plastics components. The new facilities may be used to export to other Volvo vehicle plants in the ASEAN region. it was not clear if Volvo intends to make the components itself, or whether the company plans to encourage suppliers to set up in Thailand.
