Berstorff introduces quad extruder head for tyre makers
As part of a new tread extrusion line for a world-leading tyre manufacturer, Berstorff GmbH of Hannover, Germany has developed a new quadruplex extrusion head, capable of holding peak pressures of 250 bar in every flow channel at a working width of 850mm. This was achieved first by a higher locking force and an increased stiffening of the head and second by a new flow channel geometry. The new quadruplex head is just one component in a complete line delivered by Berstorff to manufacture treads and sidewalls for passenger car tyres. The line has a capacity of up to 10,000 kg/h.
