Suzhou, China – Chinese equipment maker Safe-Run Machinery officially opened a new production base 8 July, launching its intelligent tire building machines (TBM).
The Suzhou-based company said that the new production facility was built in an area of 55,000 square meters at a cost of over RMB300 million (€41 million).
Safe-Run started construction of the plant in June 2015 and commercial production started in February 2016.
The company has stated that it aims to align its production with Industry 4.0 and Made In China 2025 initiatives, to become “an intelligent and fully automated machinery supplier.”
“Smart manufacturing,” claimed Safe-Run chairwoman Zhang Yingzi, would make the company “a worldwide top-level machinery manufacturer and an outstanding representative of Chinese manufacturing industry."
According to secretary-general, tire branch, of the China Rubber Industry Association, Shi Yifeng, Safe-Run's intelligent semi-steel uni-stage PCR tire TBM series will end the country’s complete reliance on imports of the machinery.
“It marks a milestone for the development of Chinese high-end rubber machinery industry," he commented.
