Frankfurt, Germany - EUROMAP has now published the announced energy label for plastics and rubber machinery, the industry association announced 1 Oct.
The development, said the group, reflects the growing importance of energy efficiency in the industry as well as in the association's activities.
EUROMAP has already published energy-measurement standards for injection moulding machines and extrusion blow moulding machines.
However, up until now, machinery manufacturers have used labels of their own design to show the energy efficiency of their products.
The new label makes the energy efficiency of equipment more transparent, enabling customers to make comparisons based on “common neutral” classifications.
Unlike the EU energy label, such as for refrigerators, EUROMAP said its label is voluntary, and no third-party certification is required in order to display it.
