Marangoni sees increased profitability in retreading market
ERJ staff report (LMH)
Rovereto, Italy - Italian retreading equipment maker Marangoni has said that its truck and earthmoving division has increased market share and profitability, both in Italy and the main European markets, in the first nine months of 2012.
The company said however that it does not expect the market and overall demand to increase during the final months of this year. However, it said that it has achieved positive results in the European heavy transport and site/quarry market, despite that market suffering a deep recession in both the new tyre and retreaded tyre segments.
Marangoni said that while sales volumes remained stable, the truck and earthmoving tyre sector recorded an increase in turnover in all main European markets, accompanied by a clear improvement in operating margins. The Italian company attributed this to a series of investments it neared in its product range with the introduction of new products, and also with improvements made in the distribution supply chain.
