South Africa confirms anti-competition ruling on ATT, Maxiprest

Pretoria - South Africa's Competition Tribunal has upheld a ruling by the SA Competition Commission against Auto and Truck Tyres CC and Maxiprest Tyres (Pty) Ltd over anti-competition activities related to Bridgestone and Firestone-brand tyres in South Africa.
The ruling refers to price-fixing between Maxiprest and ATT, in connection with Bridgestone and Firestone-branded tyres in the period from October 2002 to September 2005.
The ruling upholds a fine of Rand 9.35 million (euro 0.9 million) on Maxiprest, which represents 6.5 percent of Maxiprest's annual turnover, as full and final settlement.
