Retreading is cost-saving solution for earthmovers, Marangoni says.
ERJ staff report (LMH)
Rovereto, Italy -- Retreaded OTR/EM (off the road/earthmover) tyres represent the most appropriate response to demand in terms of efficiency and cost effectiveness, Marangoni Group claims.
Over the last 60 years, the Italian company says it has invested human resources, time and money in the pursuit of excellence as far as the entire retread production process is concerned.
Luca Mai, executive sales manager of the Marangoni Group's Commercial & Earthmover Tyres division, said that the company expects that that there will be a shortage of new, premium OTR/EM tyres in 2012.
“Europe's general economic situation is on everyone's mind and the need to save money has become imperative for all users. If correctly managed, even the largest tyre can be retreaded for less than 40 to 50% than the cost of a new, premium tyre. This clearly represents a substantial amount in terms of savings for the user,†Mai noted.
He said that some customers have been enticed by cheaper, “budget-quality†new OTR/EM tyres. He suggested that many of those who have tried using such tyres have gone back to using premium brands after having experienced the poor performance they offered, and once then realised they could neither be repaired nor retreaded.
Marangoni says it fully responds to every market need in terms of retreading technology and compounds by providing a range of 267 different products that are subdivided into 73 different sizes and 38 different patterns.
Marangoni will present its new products and solutions for retreading at the Reifen Essen trade fair, 5-8 June 2012.
