Ternitz, Austria - Maplan is marking 40 years of polymer processing equipment manufacture.
The company was founded as Maschinen und technische Anlagen Planungs- und Fertigungs-Ges.m.b.H. In 1970 and in 1985 added rubber injection moulding machinery to its expertise. In 1993 the division â€œrubber injection mouldingâ€ was further expanded by the takeover Werner & Pfleiderer Gummitechnik. At that point, Werner & Pfleiderer were the leading manufacturers of injection moulding machines. Up to this day, Maplan has been offering a complete service for these machines of which a large number are still in use.
Currently, Maplan employs 195 worldwide, including 160 employees at the headquarters in Ternitz, Austria. Each year the company makes 250 elastomer injection moulding machines, of these over 99 percent are exported. The company makes machines with a clamp force of 15 to 1,200 tons and an injection volume of 10 to 30,000 cm3.
