Chinese-Armenian CR plant opens

Datong, China -- President Sargsyan of Armenia has returned to his country after attending the opening ceremony of the chloroprene rubber producing Shanxi-Nairit plant in Datong City, Shanxi Province of China.
The plant is scheduled to produce up to 30 000 tonnes/year, and is 40 percent owned by the Armenian State-owned Nairit company.China National Bluestar (Group) Co., Ltd., owns the controlling 60 percent stake. Experimental production began in 2009, with 800 tonnes of rubber produced in that time.
The project is said to have cost around $100 million, all of which was supplied by the Chinese partner. Armenia provided the intellectual property to manufacture chloroprene
