TIA & SEMA join for global tyre expo
ERJ staff report (RD)
Bowie, Maryland -- The Tire Industry Association (TIA) and Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) have jointly announced the launch of Global Tire Expo -- a new tyre industry-only part of the SEMA show taking place 2-5 Nov 2010 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada.
The new expo will be open to all segments of the tyre industry, including automotive, commercial, retreading and recycling, and will have its own branding, entrance units and colour scheme to reinforce its tyre-only focus, a 30 March joint statement said.
Educational sessions targeted at the tyre market will be lead by the most knowledgeable experts in the industry and will include TIA's “Successful Tire Dealers Share Their Secrets,†amongst other sessions. SEMA will also place a permanent TIA representative on its Show Committee, as well as on its Tire & Wheel Council, effective immediately, the statement said.
“Today ushers in a new day for the tyre industry,†said TIA president Wayne Croswell. “We are optimistic that it will become the premiere event in the world for the tyre industry,†he added.
