Viking Rubber opens Vietnamese JV factory
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - Viking Rubber Co A/S, based in Denmark has opened a joint-venture factory in Vietnam with local company, Vitexco. The two companies have been cooperating since 2002, when the partners signed an agreement for Vitexco to make rainware in Vietnam.
The new factory is owned by a new JV company, Viking Vietnam. It has five production lines in operation and 200 employees - with the possibility of expanding it to seven production lines and 400 employees in the future, said the company.
Viking makes protective clothing for fishing, industrial and hazard-protection applications. The range includes boots and waders using rubberised fabrics.
