China reports NR import prices still rising
Guangdong, China - The volume and per-kilo price of NR imported to China through Guangdong Port in the first seven months of 2006 were up strongly compared with the same period in 2005.
In the first seven months, 87 000 tons of natural rubber valued at US$120 million were imported at Guangdong Port, up by 17.3 percent by volume and 54.1 percentby value compared with the same period last year. These imports and accounted for 10.2 percent of national total natural rubber import. As from the beginning of this year, the average import price of natural rubber kept rising. The average import price was 1168.3USD/Ton in Jan. In July, the price increased 26.8 percent to 1480.9USD/Ton.
