Middlebury, Connecticut -- Chemtura and its subsidiary company, Great Lakes Chemical, have said prices for the company's range of antioxidants will increase by up to 19 percent from 1 October.

The company blamed the increases on "sustained increases in raw material, energy and transportation costs; and to meet baseline profitability and an anticipated need for additional investment required to sustain these businesses".

Chemtura said, "In the main solid antioxidant categories, phenolic antioxidants will see an increase of 18 percent. In the solid phosphite product line, Alkanox 240 (offered by Great Lakes) pricing is being increased 5 percent and Ultranox 646 (offered by Chemtura) pricing will be increased 19 percent. Antioxidant blends will be increased 12 percent and NDB blends will see increases pro rata based upon composition."

The company added, "With respect to other antioxidants, price changes will be as follows: Anox IC-14 and 330, Lowinox GP 45, Lowinox DLTDP and DSTDP will be increased 4.5 percent. Lowinox 1790, 22IB46, AH 25, MD24, TBM6 and WSP will be increased 9 percent. Anox 29 and 1315, Emulsion L, Flexamine grade EL-17 and Naugard grade EL 17, Super Q, Ultra Q, and Naugard 445 will be increased by 11 percent".

Chemtura added that some customers may see larger increases, where either there is an extra requirement for service, or where prices have, for unusual reasons, been below market levels.
