Bridgestone Tianjin makes first Blizzak tyres

Tainjin, China -- Bridgestone said it has upgraded its factories in Tianjin, and the factories have produced its first winter tyres. The tyres are in the Blizzak range and feature Bridgestone's patented foam material which leads to extra grip on ice as the rubber wears.
This Is the first time the technology has been implemented outside Japan.
At a ceremony, Bridgestone said capacity at the factory was increased to 25,300 units/day from 16,500.
The company said Winter tyres are becoming an increasing market in three northeastern provinces, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia and other regions, where snow and ice are serious challenges.
