Malmo, Sweden – Hexpol AB’s president and chief executive officer Mikael Fryklund is departing the Swedish rubber specialist with immediate effect, it was announced 14 Feb.

“The board of Hexpol AB and Mikael Fryklund have decided to part ways,” said the group said in a statement, adding that “several circumstances” had led to the decision.

The group had recently not “met our expectations,” with respect to growth in sales and earnings, explained chairman of the board Georg Brunstam.

Fryklund joined Hexpol in July 2017, having previously headed Trelleborg Industrial Solutions.

His tenure at Hexpol ended despite what Brunstam described as a number of “well-managed and well-positioned” acquisitions.

As Hexpol seeks a successor, chief financial officer Peter Rosén will serve as interim CEO, supported by working chairman Brunstam.
