Danvers, Massachusetts – Speciality tire manufacturer Maxam Tire has recently opened an “all-new advanced and automated” solid tire production plant, the company has announced.

“Phase one production has officially launched with considerations for future production expansion,” according to a company statement issued 25 Aug.

While Maxam initially declined to provide details of the plant location, a company spokeswoman subsequently indicated that the facility was sited in Vietnam.

This new facility, it said, “is strategically aligned to better serve today’s market demands through compound advancement and automated technology.”

Maxam added that the unit will enhance its ability to supply specialty tire segments, including material-handling, skid steer, telehandler and loader in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa.

“This cutting-edge factory will put us ahead of the curve in the solid tire industry through market-leading technology and automated equipment,” claimed Troy Kline, president of Maxam Tire North America.

“When we decided to add this segment to our manufacturing capabilities, our objective was to re-engineer the production process, showcase our advanced compounding capabilities, and deliver improved performance, added Kline.

Danvers-based Maxam Tire North America is a division of Luxembourg-based Maxam Tire International Sarl, part of China's Sailun Group.
