White, Georgia – Toyo Tire Holdings of Americas Inc. is planning to restart production at its tire factory in White on 3 May, with manufacturing ramping up gradually.
The company plans to bring back all of its employees on a revised shift schedule. Additional measures, Toyo said, have been implemented to "ensure the health and safety of all of our employees."
The plant, which employs approximately 2,000, was idled 30 March in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
"We are pleased to be able to continue to fulfil demand for the Toyo and Nitto brand tires from our loyal customers," Toyo said in a statement.
Toyo said its customer service center, logistic team and distribution centers remain open for business.
