Cologne, Germany — The organisers of Tire Cologne have postponed the 2020 event until May next year due to the global outbreak of Covid-19 (coronavirus).

Originally planned for 9-12 June, the four-day tire show has now been rescheduled for 18-20 until May 2021 and reduced to three days, said organiser Koelnmesse 18 March.

Koelnmesse said it decided to postpone the trade fair after "in-depth consultation and in agreement" with the event's co-sponsor, the BRV/Bundesverband Reifenhandel & Vulkaniseur-Handwerk eV (German Tyre Retail & Vulcanisation Trade Association).

The decision also reflects the agreement reached 16 March between the German federal government and local authorities laying down common guidelines for dealing with the epidemic.

These guidelines called for the canceling of trade fairs and exhibitions.
