Togliatti, Russia – Tatneft’s synthetic rubber production unit Togliattikauchuk has achieved the auto industry quality management systems standard IATF 16949.
The certification is a prerequisite for trade with most automotive companies and confirms “the high quality of the products, as well as the stability of the supplier company,” said the company 23 March.
In addition, the plant was re-certified for its integrated management system in compliance with international standards ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 45001: 2018, ISO 14001: 2015, ISO 50001: 2018, the Russian energy company added.
Tatneft acquired the Togliatti rubber assets from Sibur in late 2019.
The facility manufactures 60 kilotonne per annum (ktpa) of copolymer rubbers; 75ktpa of butyl rubber, 80ktpa of butadiene; 82ktpa of isoprene rubbers and 120ktpa of MTBE high-octane fuel component, according to Tatneft’s website.
At the time of the acquisition, Tatneft said it aimed to strengthen the vertical integration of its Kama Tyres business with the takeover and increase its value.
