Novosibirsk Akademgorodok, Russia – Graphene nanotube manufacturer OCSiAl has commissioned a second production unit for carbon nanotubes at its existing facility in Novosibirsk Akademgorodok.
Named Graphetron 50, the new plant has the capacity to produce 50 tonnes per day of Tuball-branded single-wall carbon nanotubes, the Luxembourg-based company announced 13 Feb.
With a total capacity of 75 tonnes per day, OCSiAl claims to produce 90% of the overall global graphene nanotube production.
The company is also on track with the construction of a new production unit in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The first production line of the plant, with the capacity to produce 100 tonnes per annum of graphene nanotubes, is set for commissioning in 2023, the OCSiAl statement noted.
In addition, the company is planning to open a 'Tuball center' technology unit in Luxembourg later this year to support European customers.
The company already operates two Tuball centers in Russia and China, with focus on new “nanotechnology breakthroughs” for local clients.
