Vsevolozhsk, Russia – Nokian Tyres is resuming tire manufacturing at its factory in Vsevolozhsk, the company announced 4 April.
Production was set to restart 6 April “as previously” planned, said Nokian, adding that a government decree on restrictions in movement did not apply to the factory.
Nokian shut down the Vsevolozhsk plant on 30 March for a week. The Russian site rolls out15.5 million units per year of passenger car and light truck tires.
In a 2 April decree, the Russian president extended the Covid-19 “non-working regime” of paid holidays across the country until the end of April.
The provisions, Nokian said, do not apply to the Vsevolozhsk factory, “as it is a continuously operating enterprise and it is thus allowed to continue normal operations.”
