Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan - PJSC "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" (NKNH) has reported a 2.2% year-on-year decline in annual net profit to Rub23.7 billion (€294 million), on 7.8% lower sales at Rub174 billion.
The Russian rubber and speciality chemicals supplier manufactured 2.5 million tonnes of products in 2019, of which 680,000 tonnes were rubber products, the company announced 7 July.
In 2019, NKNH said it invested more than Rub45 billion in the improvement of existing facilities, modernisation, technical re-equipment and reconstruction, as well as additional units for new products.
One priority area, it said, was to expand the production of elastomers at its the scientific and technological centre.
NKNH said it developed new brands of butadiene and styrene-butadiene rubbers, thermoplastic elastomers and polybutadiene rubbers intended for the manufacture of high-performance tires as well as for road and roofing.
The Russian supplier said it also invested Rub3 billion in the large-scale reconstruction of its biological wastewater treatment plants to improve its environmental footprint.
