Greenville, South Carolina – Michelin North America is increasing tire prices in North America for the fourth time this year, citing “market dynamics” as the reason behind the hikes.
The tire maker is increasing prices on select Michelin, BFGoodrich and Uniroyal passenger and light truck replacement tires by up to 8% in the US and Canada effective 1 Sept.
In addition, the company is implementing a 4% increase on motorcycle tires, and up to 14% increase on both on- and off-road commercial tires, Michelin said 3 Aug.
This is the fourth time Michelin is increasing tire prices in North America this year, the previous one having been implemented in July.
In February, the tire maker increased the prices of Michelin and BFGoodrich tires in the US by 5%.
This was followed by an 8% rise in the prices of Michelin, BFGoodrich and Uniroyal passenger and light truck tires in the US and Canada in April.
