Frankfurt - The German rubber industry trade association (WDK) has appointed Anish K. Taneja, president of Michelin’s Europe north region, as its new president, the association has announced.

He will succeed Dr. Ralf Holschumacher, Newell Brands’ VP for supply chain EMEA and LATAM, who has been in office since 2014.

As part of his mandate, Taneja will focus on sustainability and digital mobility solutions in the German rubber industry, he said upon his appointment.

"Overcoming the corona pandemic, the transformation of mobility and megatrends such as climate protection, the energy transition or the circular economy pose enormous challenges,” he said.

The official said he hoped to overcome such challenges through close dialogue and cooperation within the business community.

Taneja also said he would work emphatically towards establishing “reliable framework conditions” for the German rubber industry.

Holschumacher, who according to WDK had “a decisive influence” on the association during his tenure, will remain as a member of the executive committee.
