Yantai, China – Linglong has opened five more tracks this month at its €149 million (1.1 billion yuan) Sino-Asia Tire Proving Ground in Yantai’s Zhaoyuan county.
The high-speed circuit, designed for 180km/h balance-speed, was opened on 10 March, said Yantai, Shandong-based Linglong’s announcement.
The 5.3km-long track has a 1.5km straight lane, and the banked curves have a 49°39′ maximum angle, able to conduct lane change, sliding and other performance tests.
Four more tracks for wet performance, including a wet circle, a wet handling track and two straight line braking tracks, were opened on 16 March.
The 150-hectare proving ground opened its first tracks in 2016 and has been operated by Applus+IDIADA, Spain’s automotive industry testing services provider.
Today, the complex covers a total of 17 tracks, such as pass-by noise test track, dynamic platform, off-road track, uphill track, NVH track and multi-functional area, as well as indoor labs.
It has signed contract with China National Tyre Quality Supervision and Inspection Center on a strategic partnership in tire and whole vehicle testing.
