Milan, Italy – Manufacturers of rubber & plastics machinery in Italy have been given the green light to continue operations in a decree issued by the Italian government to curb the spread of Covid-19.
The government move aims to stop all unnecessary economic activity in the country and will be enforced between 25 March and 4 April.
The operations of the rubber & plastics machinery manufacturers, however, fall within a production chain that has been defined as necessary, the Italian trade association Amaplast said 24 March.
The manufacturers will comply with a government protocol which requires the entities to list all the measures taken to limit the spread of the virus.
Moreover, Amaplast said that the companies are asked to limit production only to those units whose activity is “really essential.”
The trade body added that there are some delays in the supply of materials and components which are not affecting production.
Similarly, deliveries of machinery and customers' assistance are taking place as usual, Amaplast added.
