Akron, Ohio — Goodyear is planning to raise prices on all Goodyear- and Dunlop-branded passenger and light truck tires in the US by up to 5%, effective 1 Dec.
Goodyear cited the "changing market dynamics in the industry" for the increases, which it said "reflect the strong value of the Goodyear brands."
Goodyear last raised consumer tire prices in North America on 1 April, boosting prices on Goodyear- and Kelly-brand consumer tires by up to 5%.
Other companies to announce recent price increases include:
• Hankook Tire America Corp., on its lines of commercial truck tires in the US by up to 5% on 1 Dec;
• Yokohama Tire Corp., by up to 5% on select consumer replacement tires sold in the US, effective 1 Nov; and by up to 6%, effective 1 Dec, on "select" commercial tire lines; and
• Bridgestone Americas Corp., on radial Firestone truck and bus tires, effective 1 Nov, by an average of more than 5%, with some prices by more than 8%.
