Tai’an, Shandong – Xunchi Rubber Industrial’s butyl rubber inner tube production plant, with the capacity to manufacture 2.6 million units per year, passed its final environmental inspection in October, according to a company official.

Xunchi has started up the €13.8 million (109 million yuan) production plant, the construction of which was completed earlier in May, the company official told ERJ.

Spanning 16,700 square metres, the new plant, manufactures inner tube for heavy duty, engineering and farm tires, each accounting for roughly a third of the total output. However, production is adjustable based on market conditions, the company said.

Most of the plant’s products will be destined for the Chinese market.

The project purchases 13,536 tonnes of mixed rubber compound each year and produces 13,490 tonnes of inner tubes.

Located at Tai’an city’s Shiheng Chemical Industry Cluster, the project has created 30 new jobs, and is expected to generate €2.5 million average annual net profit on €24.7 million annual sales.

Xunchi was set up in 2014 in Tai’an, Shandong province with €631,000 registered capital. The company’s business scope also contains sales of tire, natural rubber, carbon black and tire cord fabric.
