Beijing – China exported 49 million units of 'new rubber tire' in October 2021, up 7% on the same month a year ago, according to official state figures.
The weight of tire exports during the month reached 610,000 tonnes, up 3% on the previous year, said China’s General Administration of Customs. This compares to a 6% drop in August.
The value of exports in October as presented in US dollars climbed 13% year on year, to $1.5 billion. In August it was a 6% rise.
Over the first ten months of 2021, China exported 487 million units of tires, recording a 27% rise from a year ago.
Export value shot up 26% from the same period in 2020, to $13.6 billion. Volumes in tonnage rose by 17% to 5.7 million tonnes.
China’s tire production in October contracted by 6% year on year, to 73 million units, said China’s National Bureau of Statistics. In September the number fell by 15%.
Production over the first ten months amounted to 738 million units, up 14% on the same period in 2020.
