Milan, Italy – Versalis has appointed Adriano Alfani as chief executive officer with effect from 1 Jan, replacing Daniele Ferrari, who will leave the company at the end of this year.
Alfani joins Versalis with 20-years of experience in the international chemical industry, including in roles at senior global business director and senior global strategy director levels.
He started his career at EniChem after working at Dow since 2001, where he adopted a business model based on innovation, circular economy and sustainability principles, noted a Versalis statement.
Commenting on predecessor Ferrari’s work at Versalis,” Claudio Descalzi, CEO of parent group Eni, said he had “contributed to improving the company’s results and setting the transition path towards an increasingly sustainable and circular chemicals business.”
