Jiaxing, Zhejiang – Japan’s rubber and special chemical distributor Kato Sansho has broken ground on a mixing plant in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province.
The project is managed by the company’s fully owned subsidiary Saiko New Materials Technology, according to its environmental impact report.
Spanning 18,300 square metres, the €35 plant is located at Jiaxing’s Dushan Port Economic Development Zone.
It has a designed annual capacity of 7,200 tonne with facilities including two 110-litre mixing lines, four 75-litre lines, two 55-litre lines as well as a fluorubber production line, said the report.
The project is slated to come on stream by August 2020. It will create 120 new jobs and generate €23 million (180 million yuan) worth of annual production.
Rubber made at the plant will be supplied to sectors such as automotive, high-speed railroad, home appliances, construction, machinery and power generation.
Kato Sansho already has mixing plants in Japan and Malaysia, said the report.
The company declined to comment further when contacted by ERJ.
