Updated: Chinese tire maker builds second Malaysian plant

Kuantan, Malaysia – China’s Maxtrek Tyres broke ground on its tire site at Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park on 15 June.

The site has designed annual capacity of 6 million units passenger car tires and light truck tires and 500,000 unit truck and bus tires.

The project has an investment of several hundreds of millions ringgit and will create hundreds of new jobs, the company told ERJ.

This will be the second Chinese tire site in Malaysia, following Fullrun’s facilities in Port Klang with annual capacity of 3 million…
