Brussels – Falken has been approved to supply tires to the current generation of Porsche Macan as original fitment, the tire maker announced 15 May.

Falken supplies the SUV versions of its Azenis FK510, in both 235/60R18 and 255/55R18 sizes, for the vehicle.

The “top-of-the-range” tires have an innovative carcass design which ensures precise steering behaviour and refinement, said Falken Tyre Europe, an affiliate of Japanese tire maker Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI).

The tires feature SRI’s adaptive constant pressure (ACP) tread technology, which is claimed to improve braking performance, directional stability and driving dynamics.

To increase the tire’s life span, Falken engineers developed a “ground-breaking” rubber compound for the FK510 series, using SRI’s 4D Nano design technology.

The compound, according to Falken, provides a high degree of grip and improved wear resistance.

The Azenis FK510 series have been available in the market since 2017.

The development of the tires, according to Falken officials, is part of the company’s strategy to increase offering in “growing and profitable segments.”
