China to issue tariffs on $60bn worth of US goods

Beijing – In an escalation of trade disputes between China and the US, the Chinese Ministry of Finance has announced plans to levy tariffs on some $60 billion (€53.5 billion) worth of US goods effective 1 June.

The move is in reaction to a 10-May decision by the Trump administration to raise import tariffs on some $200 billion worth of Chinese goods – including tires and other automotive components to – 25%.
