Voronezh, Russia - Sibur is expanding neodymium polybutadiene rubber (NdBR) capacity at its production plant in Voronezh, south west Russia.
The project will involve a “large-scale” upgrade at the plant to improve efficiency and quality of products, Sibur announced 12 Feb.
The upgrade will increase total output by 10.5 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa) to 48ktpa.
The project, currently at the design stage, is set for completion in 2021.
According to Sibur, the additional capacity will target “strong demand” in CIS and European countries.
Sibur maintains that its NdBR grades are “environmentally friendly and energy-efficient”, with “guaranteed better quality.”
The material, said the company, are free of “harmful oligomers” and can be used as feedstock for eco-friendly tires.
