Troy, Michigan – US engine products and drive systems supplier Dayco has expanded its operations in south east Asia and Australia in a bid to support automotive growth in the region.
In Australia, the company expanded its warehouse in Hallam, Victoria, by more than 1,000 square metres and upgraded the unit with transporter access bays and internal modernisations, Dayco announced 26 July.
The expansion, according to Dayco, has been carried out "to support the addition of more than 4,000 new Dayco SKU’s to the company’s automotive aftermarket product range."
Dayco said the expanded warehouse would support its planned introduction of an industrial engine belt range among other new products.
Separately, Dayco announced 23 July that it had set up a new sales unit in Singapore and a warehouse in the country’s Penjuru region in response to automotive aftermarket growth in the region.
The new warehouse will supply V-belts, Poly V-belts, timing belts, tensioners and pulleys for both passenger and commercial vehicles to the market.
Yong Kee Ng was named as the region’s business development manager in 2017, while Jeannette Loh has been appointed to head the local customer service operation.
“Dayco is responding to the increasing demands of automotive repairers and re-sellers throughout the region,” explained Arnold Mouw, vice president, Asia Pacific aftermarket.
