US firm petitions against rubber band imports from Asia

Washington – Alliance Rubber Co., an Arkansas-based producer of rubber bands, has petitioned the International Trade Commission for relief against rubber band imports from China, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

Alliance, which said it makes the vast majority of the rubber bands manufactured in the US, asked for both antidumping and countervailing duties in its petition. The ITC officially instituted an investigation 30 Jan.
