Toyoda Gosei developing ‘e-rubber’ surgical simulators

Kiyosu, Japan – Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. and the Japanese academic medical device start-up EBM Corp. have agreed to work together on the development and adoption of surgical training simulators using ‘e-rubber’.

In an 8 Nov announcement, Toyoda Gosei said it is currently developing the ‘e-rubber’  material , building on its earlier  R&D around “next-generation artificial intelligence and robot core technology.”

The projject with EBM, which develops cardiac-surgery training devices and systems, will look to achieve more life-like simulators, the company statement added.
