UK car demand continues to slide

London – The UK new car market declined for a sixth consecutive month in September, with 426,170 new units registered, according the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

SMMT Sept TableNew-car registrations fell by -9.3% in September, which is regarded as a key month for sales, while the year-to-date figure was -3.9% lower. SMMT figures released 26 Oct show. Registrations of petrol cars fell by 1.2% last month, while diesel sales fell 21.7%.
