Magog, Quebec — Industrial tire maker Camso Ltd. has acquired Omni Industrial Tire of San Antonio to expand the presence of its materials-handling distribution and tire service business in the Texas market.
Camso describes Omni Industrial as the second largest industrial tire specialist in Texas, with four locations throughout southern Texas. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"The acquisition…will enable Camso to further penetrate the Texas market and consolidate its leadership position in this region," according to Bob Bulger, Camso vice president and general manager — Solideal On-Site Service.
"Omni has a strong and respected name in Texas, and shares our unique view of providing OTR mobility solutions."
San Antonio-based Omni Industrial was founded in 2001, specialising in the sales, service and installation of forklift, construction and agricultural tires and Soft Poly Tire Fill flat proofing. It maintains branches in McAllen, Corpus Christi and Laredo, Texas.
The deal represents a growth opportunity for Camso and its independent service division, Solideal-On-Site Service, Mr. Bulger said.
Magog-based Camso, formerly Camoplast Solideal, goes to market as the "Road Free" company, emphasizing its strengths in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of off-road tires, wheels, rubber tracks and undercarriage systems for the materials-handling, construction, agricultural and powersports industries.
