Nokian names new CIO as part of 'digitalisation' drive

Nokia, Finland – Nokian Tyres Plc has appointed Frans Westerlund as its vice president, chief information office (CIO) and Processes, to drive digitalisation at the company.
Westerlund will join Nokian's management team on 1 August and will report to the president and CEO, said a 19 April Nokian statement.
He holds a masters degree in economics and is joining Nokian from Fiskars Corp. where he is currently SVP, chief information officer, head of Business Processes & IT. Prior to joining Fiskars in 2009, Westerlund held several ICT-related positions at Nokia Corp.
“Processes and ICT are strategic enablers for profitable growth of the company and digitalisation adds value to both consumer and customer experience. Mr. Westerlund has strong expertise and experience in business transformation programmes and building process and ICT platforms in consumer goods companies,” said Andrei Pantioukhov, interim president and CEO of Nokian Tyres.
Teppo Huovila, current vice president for quality, sustainability and ICT will continue as vice president, quality and sustainability.
