New Chinese steel cord and carbon black project
Shizuishan, China – Chemical conglomerate Ningxia Dadi Circular Deveploment Corp. broke ground in February on its project with 50,000 tonne per year steel cord capacity and 80,000 tonne per year carbon black capacity.
The new project is located in Pingluo county, Shizuishan city, Ningxia, where Dadi is headquartered. According to report by local newspaper Shizuishan Daily on 1 March, the project has €544 million (4 billion yuan) total investment and will generate 1,000 new jobs and €1.2 billion annual sales when it starts operation in 2019.
Set up in 2002, Dadi has 5,600 employees today with more than €1.4 billion annual production, its Pingluo site covering 5.3 million square metre total area. Dadi’s subsidiary Landy Tire also has an ongoing project in Ningxia that broke ground in 2013.
With €1.4 billion investment earmarked, the tire plant will have 10 million unit annual capacity for truck and bus tires, 10 million unit for passenger car tires and 100,000 unit for aviation tires when completed. Phase 1, with 2.4 million truck and bus tire capacity, is already in operation.
