Geismar, Louisiana – Lion Elastomers will implement a price increase of 20% per pound ($440/tonne - €400/tonne) on all grades of styrene-butadiene rubber, effective 1 April, the company announced 16 March.
Constrained monomer availability is raising raw material costs, necessitating the price hike, Lion said.
"The raw material situation will be reviewed monthly relative to butadiene based on reported IHS contract pricing," the company said. Lion will make price adjustments as appropriate, it said.
