Datwyler to build €90m plant in US
Altdorf, Switzerland – Datwyler is building a new plant in Delaware to manufacture elastomer components for injectable drug delivery systems, the Swiss company announced 4 Oct.
The company is investing CHF 100 million (€91 million) in the plant, which it says will be “highly automated”.
Construction on the site is likely to start before the end of the year, with production scheduled for the first half of 2018.
Once fully operational, the plant will create around 120 jobs.
Datwyler started its first plant in the US in 1981 and supplies to the health care and pharmaceutical market in the country.
The new production site will be designed in accordance with Datwyler’s ‘FirstLine’ standards, a manufacturing concept for high-quality elastomer components based on modern clean room technology, automated production cells and automated camera inspection.
