Trelleborg adds materials offerings to subsea market

Krokstadelva, Norway – Trelleborg's offshore operation in Norway is expanding its production capability with a new manufacturing line, the Swedish company announced 30 Aug.
The unit will add fusion-bonded epoxy (FBE) powder coating and polypropylene (PP) to Trelleborg’s current range of thermal insulation materials for subsea systems.
Eirik Simonsen and Adam Jackson, with a combined experience of 40 years, are joining Trelleborg, are to take on the roles of thermal insulation business group director and technical manager respectively.
The new production line will be built in an area of 1,000 sq. metres and will add FBE powder coating and PP material options to the facility’s range of Vikotherm thermal insulation materials including rubber, silicone and syntactic polyurethane.
Trelleborg expects the new line to start production as of Q1 2017.
