Malaysia to rubberise 1,000km of roads

Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia plans to ‘rubberise’ some 1,000km of its roads beginning this year, the country’s national news agency Bernama reported 2 Feb.

The plan aims to diversify use of rubber in the country, making room for construction applications and reducing stocks, said head of Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) Mohd Akbar Md Said.

The country has already rubberised a 1km patch of road at the Kota Tinggi Research Station in Johor.
