Hanover, Germany – Continental has officially opened an expanded R&D facility at its tires division location in Púchov, Slovakia, the company announced 5 Nov.
The €7,5-million extension is intended to help meet increased demand for technology services from the Continental tires division worldwide.
Last year, the German tire maker unveiled a project to expand the tire manufacturing capacity for passenger cars, light trucks and 4x4 vehicles in Púchov by more than five million units.
The new technology centre, it said, will support the development of the tire plant, “enabling Puchov to combine extended research and development know-how with advanced tire manufacturing expertise at one location.”
