Dunlop to celebrate motorsport milestone at Britcar 1000km
ERJ staff report (TP)
Birmingham, UK – Dunlop will celebrate 125 years of global motorsport “prominence” at Silverstone’s Britcar 1000km.
The event, which takes place 21-22 September, will consist of a Dunlop Live Area and interactive Q&A sessions, all in association with Pistonheads, the UK's biggest motoring website and online community.
Across the weekend, attendees will experience an exclusive Dunlop Tyre Talk within the Dunlop fitting area, providing a behind the scenes look at a tire fitting service in a race paddock.
A Dunlop Live Area has been designed to demonstrate the performance of the Dunlop Sport Maxx RT which has been derived from the manufacturer’s learnings on the race track. The test drivers will complete a slalom in the dry followed by a stopping distance test in the wet area.
Andy Marfleet, Dunlop brand manager, said: “[Our] Sport Maxx RT is renowned for its wet braking ability and Dunlop’s innovative Short Braking blocks ensure shorter braking distances are possible in any environment. The tire has been specifically designed for driving enthusiasts who are dedicated to maximising the performance of their cars. The Britcar 1000km provides the perfect environment to target those potential customers.”
