Maplan maps out future growth

Ternitz, Austria – Maplan, the manufacturer of elastomer injection moulding machines, announced in a press release that it has expanded its management team and outlined plans for further growth.
The Austrian company issued a “New Strategic Orientation” that would entail “investing in specialists, strengthening sales and service structure, concentration on core business and expanding manufacturing and development capabilities.”
Maplan intends to develop new markets − with Turkey, India, China and Brazil among their priorities. At the same time, they will modify and expand service to customers in Europe and the US over the next few years.
A new site in Austria will be opened to double production capacity. The exact location has not yet been revealed.
Wolfgang Meyer, CEO, said: "Quality made in Austria is what has made us strong − and this will remain a key factor in the future."
Maplan was founded as an engineering and plant construction firm in 1970 in southern Vienna. The company manufactures over 250 vertical and horizontal elastomer injection moulding machines per year. It employs 160 people at its headquarters in Ternitz (with 200 people worldwide). Its annual turnover in 2012 was €36m.
